Lagos, Nigeria – February 7, 2025The Rotary Club of Ewutuntun and Rotaract Districts 9111 (Nigeria) and 9103 (Benin) are set to make a lasting impact with their Correctional Center Outreach, a District International Service initiative for the 2024-2025 Rotary year. The outreach will take place at the Children Correctional Center for Girls, located at the Chapel of Healing Cross (CMUL/LUTH), Idi-Araba, on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM.
This humanitarian initiative aims to bring hope, support, and encouragement to young girls in correctional facilities, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to community development and youth empowerment. Through mentorship, essential supplies, and interactive sessions, the outreach seeks to inspire a positive transformation in the lives of the girls.
The Correctional Center Outreach is a reflection of Rotary International’s guiding principle: "Service Above Self." By collaborating with Rotaract, this event bridges the gap between experienced professionals and passionate young leaders, creating a synergy that fosters sustainable impact.
Speaking about the event, Rtr. Adeleke Nuha Tella, the International Service Chair, emphasized the importance of engaging with marginalized youth, stating:
